The win also saw him ink his name into the Premier League history books, becoming the first player to win the award four times in a calendar year.
"Three goals and four assists was a complete month," Fernandes said after receiving the award. "Scoring and assisting your team-mates is perfect. I want to achieve other trophies and awards but I’m really happy to make history."
Fernandes started the month with his second-half substitute appearance, coming on to assist Paul Pogba for the equalizer.
He then scored twice and assisted once as Man United saw off Leeds 6-2, before scoring against Leicester and assisting the other in a 2-1 win.
He rounded off the month with his assist for Marcus Rashford as they beat Wolves 1-0.
