Just like the rumors linking Dele Alli with a loan from Tottenham Hotspur to Inter Milan, the rumors about a sensational return to Spurs by Christian Eriksen aren’t going away, but now, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has cleared the air.
Romano has said on Twitter that there is definitely interest on both sides in bringing Eriksen back to Tottenham on a short-term loan, but the big holdup are wages.
Eriksen left Spurs a year ago chasing after that one last big move and resultant payday. He got at least the second part.

While the biggest clubs in world football weren’t interested in him, Inter Milan was and paid him accordingly. €7.5m in wages per year after taxes is insane money, and you can imagine that considering that kind of loan after Spurs already have Gareth Bale on the payroll is probably a non-starter.
Eriksen has indicated through intermediaries that he’d like to come back to North London, but that regardless he’d like a return to the Premier League, as his Milan experience just hasn’t worked out.
Fabrizio also mentioned on the Last Word on Spurs podcast this week that this is a potential deal that could get some momentum in the last week of the transfer window when both parties may be more ready to deal.
