France coach Deschamps admits he can't forgive striker Karim Benzema

France head coach Didier Deschamps has once again opened up on his feud with Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

Benzema hasn’t been called to the French national team since 2015 following his saga with Mathieu Valbuena but according to Deschamps, the racism allegation placed on him by the 33-year-old is something that he hasn’t forgotten.

In 2016, Benzema claimed that his Algerian origin was the reason why he wasn’t being called to the national team claiming that Deschamps had bowed to pressure from a racist part of France.

"It left its mark. Even if it fades a bit with time, I can't forget it. It's not just about Karim Benzema, there are comments from other people who carried out this violence against my family," Deschamps said in an interview with RTL.

Deschamps' family home has been attacked and he tried to sue Benzema for his comments, but the courts dismissed his claim.
