Laliga giants FC Barcelona are still interested in the services of Bayern Munich defender avid Alaba.
Alaba has refused to sign a new deal with the Bavarians with Real Madrid believed to be the front runners for his signature but according to Sky Sports Deutschland via DayLive, Barca is willing to sit the player down as they seek to convince him with a good package.
According to the reports, Alaba’s advisor Pini Zahavi is said to be confident of interest from Barca once a new president is in place at Camp Nou in March, with the elections having been pushed back from this month.
Zahavi is said to be close friends with presidential frontrunner Joan Laporta and should he win the club’s forthcoming elections then the Lionel Messi-led side might just pip anyone in getting the versatile defender.
The 28-year-old Austria international is holding off from making a decision over his future until April, with the club officials confirming that they were reserved to losing their academy product for free in the summer.
🚨💥 David Alaba's agent Pini Zahavi wants to wait for the Barcelona presidential elections before signing for any club, if Joan Laporta wins, the agent wants to start serious talks with them. No final decision will be made until April/May. 🔴🔵⏳— Managing Barça (@ManagingBarca) January 19, 2021
