Mathare United settled for a goalless draw against Bandari FC in the FKF Premier League game stage at Karasani on Friday evening.
Bandari was piling pressure on Mathare United, they were awarded back to back corners that yielded to nothing. Mathare United responded well as Crispin Oduor delivered a beautiful ball inside the Bandari danger zone but Justin Ndikumana was alert to collect it.
A huge chance of the game came just before half time, Daniel Otieno unleashed a shot that hit the crossbar to deny the Slum Boys from taking the lead.
Ndikumana was in fine form as yet against the goalkeeper saved Akenga's effort to deny Mathare from taking the lead.
Wazito 2-1 Nzoia Sugar
Elsewhere, Wazito FC came from a goal down to register a 2-1 victory over Nzoia Sugar.
Erick Otieno opened up scoring for Nzoia Sugar, forcing the game to end 1-0 in favor of the visitors at half time. However, in the second half, Kevin Kimani put the scores level from a penalty kick before Whyvonne Isuza grabbed the winner.
Sugar had a better start creating a number of chances as Erick Otieno was put through on goal but put the ball wide. Some minutes later, the forward sneaked behind after a poor back pass but then again could not take advantage.
However, in the ninth minute, Otieno finally put the visitors ahead beating Fredrick Odhiambo after a number of attempts.
In the second half, Dennis Shikayo was brought down inside the danger zone and the centre referee pointed for a spot-kick. Kevin Kimani stepped up and made no mistake from the 12 yards, drawing Wazito level.
Wazito had another attack and the ball was delivered inside Nzoia's penalty area, the defenders failed to clear with Whyvonne Isuza taking the advantage to poke home from a close range.
