💰 Manchester United finalizing on a new shirt deal

English Premier League giants Manchester United are on the verge of parting ways with Chevrolet with reports rife that they are finalizing on a new shirt deal.

The Sun reports that United are in talks with an unnamed American software company that are willing to pump in a £70million-per-year shirt sponsorship deal; Chevrolet whose £64m-a-year agreement expires in December.

Talks have been ongoing between the club and the company and it means the club could end up wearing-and selling-shirts with two different names on the front next season; the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward told investors that they were confident of bouncing back strongly from the pandemic-despite the club's debt rising by £64m to £455m in the last three months of 2020.

The Chevrolet deal, which is the biggest in football was due to expire at the end of this season but United took up the option of extending it by another six months because of the pandemic.
