Tottenham Hotspur has contacted Maurizio Sarri over the vacant position at the club.
Spurs are in the market for a manager after parting ways with Jose Mourinho on Monday and while they have appointed Ryan Mason until the end of the season, the club is looking for a permanent manager who can take over the club in the coming season.
Reports from Football Italia indicate that Spurs have contacted Sarri’s agent Fali Ramadani to offer him the chance to manage the club as from next season.
Sarri spent a season with Chelsea in the Premier League, helping them win the Europa League before leaving for Juventus with the reports indicating that the former Napoli boss is eager to return to work preferably in England as he feels he wasn’t given enough time to prove his worth at Stamford Bridge.
The Italian has been out of work since being fired last August following the Old Lady’s Champions League elimination at the hands of Lyon in the round of 16.
The 62-year-old who helped the Serie A giants to last season’s title and only lost the Coppa Italia to Napoli on penalties is still under contract with Juventus until June 2022, but his contract can be terminated one year early if he is paid €2.5 million by the end of April.
Apart from Spurs, there are reports that Roma is also keen on recruiting Sarri ahead of the new season with The English club said to be keen on RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann too.
