Premier League side Manchester City is set to extend Fernandinho's contract according to reports.
Fernandinho joined City from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013 and was made Citizens captain at the beginning of the 2020/21 season, following David Silva’s departure. The Brazilian's contract with the league leaders is set to expire at the end of the current season and City are keen to retain his services.
It is reported that Fernandinho will announce his final decision after the Champions League final against Chelsea on May 29th.
The 28-year-old had revealed pre-contract offers from Europe and South America but now he will certainly continue to be a big presence in the dressing room.
