After a damaging 3-3 draw with Levante, Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets believes his team's chances of winning LaLiga this season are 'practically over.'
The Catalan team had the chance to go top of the table for a short time, but they blew a two-goal lead at the Estadi Ciutat de València and paid the price with one point instead of three.
"We don't have much of a chance now," Busquets told Spanish TV station Movistar. "It will depend on our rivals, but this is our own fault, bad decisions, a lack of concentration. We concede goals too easily."
"We don't feel good because it was always going to be difficult, but we wanted to put pressure on those at the top. We had the lead, but as has happened this season, Levante scored goals too easily. The point doesn't mean much because that's the league practically over for us. We've dropped too many points to fight for the title."
With two games left, the damage to Busquets, who has won eight LaLiga titles during his tenure at Barcelona, is undoubtedly irreversible. It has given Atletico Madrid, who are currently in first position, a significant advantage ahead of their match against Real Sociedad on Wednesday.
With a win at the Wanda Metropolitano, Diego Simeone's side will widen the gap on Barcelona to four points.
Barcelona seems to have run out of steam at the worst possible moment, winning only one of their last four LaLiga games in the final stretch. Barcelona was beaten by Granada at home and kept 0-0 by Atletico Madrid at the Nou Camp, in addition to the draw with Levante.
