The English Premier League's top six clubs have been punished for the failed breakaway to join the UEFA Super League.

As reported here on Futaa, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea had secretly decided to join the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona as well as all the other super clubs in Europe to start a new exclusive league.

The clubs did not expect a fierce backlash and rejection for the idea from fuming fans and former players, leading to a swift change of mind about the whole concept.

The English Premier League has since delivered on its promise to fine the clubs for the attempted getaway.

Meanwhile, the attention is on the England national side as it kicks off its 2020 Euro campaign against Croatia this coming Sunday.
