Premier League side Manchester United saved a lot of money by failing to sign Jadon Sancho last summer.
Sancho is on the verge of joining United this summer according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano who revealed that both United and Dortmund had agreed on a deal with both sides having failed to reach an agreement last summer.
German publication BILD claims that United will pay €85m for Sancho’s services, with potentially another €10m based on add-ons and clauses. This is such a huge contract in that the Bundesliga giants wanted a sum of €120m for the player just 12 months ago.
It means that Manchester United will initially pay €35m less than the fee Dortmund demanded in 2020. This would justify Manchester United’s willingness to get a deal done this time around, as well as their cautious approach last summer.
Should the add-ons and clauses be paid in full, the deal would total at €25m less than the €120m fee set in 2020.
