Aston Villa confident Jack Grealish will sign a new deal

Aston Villa is confident of handing captain Jack Grealish a new deal despite the player being linked with a move away from the club.

Grealish was one of the star performers for England in the just-concluded Euros where they lost to Italy in the final.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester City but according to Birmingham Live, says City has had no contact with Grealish or Villa over a deal.

The 25-year-old came on as an extra-time substitute in the clash with Italy, which ended in a penalty shootout loss for England.

The Midlands club has offered their captain a new and improved contract, worth in the region of £150,000-a-weekand it remains to be seen if he will accept the deal as the allure of winning trophies with City and working under Pep Guardiola might be hard to turn down.

Fresh reports emerged earlier in the week that City were 'lining up a £90 million opening offer' which has been rebuffed by the tabloid.

Grealish, who signed a bumper new five-year contract just 10 months ago, has been linked with a move to Man United too.
