Chelsea & City keen on Barca's young Moriba

Chelsea and Manchester City have been linked with Barcelona teenager Ilaix Moriba, who is currently in a contract dispute with the club.

Moriba is in the final year of his contract with the Spanish giants and has refused to sign an extension, resulting in the 18-year-old being barred from first-team training during pre-season.

According to SPORT, who cites the Manchester Evening News, both Chelsea and City are keeping an eye on his situation ahead of a potential move, with the Premier League duo willing to offer Moriba €6 million per season, which is double his current salary at the Camp Nou.

Pep Guardiola is said to be a huge fan of the youngster, who is regarded as one of Barcelona's brightest prospects after coming through the academy system, and who made 18 appearances in all competitions last season after being promoted to the senior side under Ronald Koeman.

However, Koeman has decided to keep Moriba out of senior training, as he is currently preparing for the new season with Barcelona B.

With the current impasse in Catalonia over a new contract and Barcelona's need to raise funds to combat debts, a deal to send Moriba to the Premier League could happen this summer.
