Manchester United will double the current wages Raphael Varane earns at Real Madrid.
United have completed the signing of the Frenchman with an official announcement expected later this week after both clubs agreed on a deal.
And while a lot has been spoken about the money Madrid will be getting for the player, less has been said about how much the World Cup winner will be getting at Old Trafford.
French publication L’Equipe via Daily Post notes that although the personal financial gain was not the deciding factor in the expected transfer, Varane will earn €250,000 per week at United in what will be double what he was pocketing at Madrid.
Despite initially holding out for £60m) for the French defender, Manchester United’s hierarchy was able to knock Real Madrid down and save themselves an impressive £18m by getting the player for £42m part of which will go to his former club Lens.

Varane is 28 years on 250k a week.
Kounde is 22 years and likely to earn £100k a week.
Varane is ahead of him at the moment as a player but as a football club who cares about the future, Kounde is the better deal to make.
