Steven Gerrard hits back over Jurgen Klopp rumours

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has hit back to reports linking him with the Liverpool job.

There have been speculations over the past that Gerrard was being groomed to replace Jurgen Klopp when the Geran calls it a day at Anfield but according to Gerrard, he didn't need such speculations.

"I can't control any media speculation about my position. I don't welcome it, I don't add to it. All I do is focus on the job I have here and I'm very flattered and grateful for the position.

"I'm very happy here, I've said it on numerous occasions, it's a huge club, I'm settled, I'm happy and I can continue to develop and keep trying to push this team forward," Gerrard told ESPN as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

The Liverpool legend, heading into his fourth season in charge of Rangers, secured the club's first top-flight title in 10 years back in March.

The former England international took up his first senior managerial role when he moved to Scotland in 2018 after spending time working under Klopp at the Reds' Academy.
