🗣 One on One with KCCA's new signing Emmanuel Wasswa 

Kampala City new signing Emmanuel Wasswa opted against signing a new deal at SC Villa and joined Kasasiro Boys on a two-year deal. 

Well, he had offers from a number of clubs abroad but decided to remain in Uganda. 

Futaa.com's writer Vincent caught up with the player for a brief interview.

Who is Emmanuel Wasswa?

Wasswa Emmanuel Alex was born 26years ago on 03/01/95 to Ssalongo Kayizzi George and the late Nalongo Kayizzi in Entebbe

I understand you had offers from different clubs, why did you choose KCCA despite interest from other clubs?

Yes, I had so many offers in and outside Uganda I weighed on the offers I had and my objective, and Target I and my representative saw that we should look for another home where I ended up at KCCA FC. 

What made you not renew your deal with SC Villa?

KCCA FC is a role model club on the continent now having won 13 champions domestically and represented the country at a continental level more than any other club in Uganda I had no other Idea but to sign and join KCCA FC because I know it will help me fulfill my targets and ambitions.

Now that KCCA are in Kagame Cup, what are you looking forward to in the tournament?

This being my first international tournament and my first at KCCA fc I wouldn't promise much but as far as I know, I will work hard to achieve the club objective which is winning back the trophy. 

Having represented Uganda Sand Cranes in their first-ever AFCON beach soccer championship in Senegal, how can you describe that feeling?

Wow! About Afcon for beach soccer in Senegal, it was the best feeling ever because I joined beach soccer to play in the Afcon and I feel that I reached the promised Land in beach soccer best experience ever. 

Do you have any ambitions of joining a team outside Uganda in the future?

I already had offers outside Uganda and do believe when I still work hard and am still on the pitch I know I will make the dream come true. 

How do you hope to impress the new coach, Morley Byekwaso?

I know well the reason why Coach Morley signed me so I have to stick to the point work hard as I have always been and I Know trusting in God it will be well at KCCA FC.

How do you describe your playing style?

Am a midfielder who can play both defensive and attacking roles I work a lot on the pitch because I know it's only 90mins of the game and rests the other hours of the day. 

Which player do you look up to?

Toni Kroos. 

Ahead of the new season, what are your season targets with the Kasasiro Boys?

Season targets scoring 7+goals and 7+ assists winning da league Uganda cup and possibly taking KCCA fc back to the continent where it belongs.
