In yet again another late transfer, Arsenal announced the signing of Japan international Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna on a long-term contract.
Tomiyasu signed for Arsenal after the north London side agreed on a £19.8m (€23m) deal with Bologna to get their man.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was delighted following the arrival of the right-back and he said, "Takehiro is a strong defender with good experience in Serie A and at international level."
"He’s a versatile defender with great defensive qualities, high technical ability, and composure on the ball. He will be an important member of our squad. We look forward to Takehiro joining up with us when he returns from international duty," he added.
His arrival came after the departure of Hector Bellerin who joined Real Betis on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 22-year-old will wear jersey number 18.
