Alcantara value has dropped since joining Liverpool

Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara has seen his value drop since moving to Liverpool in September 2020.

The former Bayern Munich player has shown glimpses of what he can do when fit for the Jurgen Klopp side but adapting to the demands of English football has taken a toll over him where he has been on the periphery with injuries too.

The 30-year-old, who is one of the best earners in the team, has made 35 appearances for the Reds across all competitions, with just one goal and one assist in the process.

Thiago's market value was listed at £43.2m in October 2020 just a month after he made the move to Anfield but it now stands at £22.5m, showing a drop of £20.7m in just one year according to stats from the Transfermarkt.

According to Whoscored, the midfielder has earned an overall season rating of 6.87/10 for his performances in the Premier League so far this term, making him one of Liverpool’s lowest-rated players to have started more than one league game.
