Premier League giants Liverpool are interested in signing Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix in January.
Felix has failed to cement his place under Diego Simeone and according to the Spanish outlet Fichajes via the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool is interested in signing in the coming short winter window as they seek to strengthen their forward department.
The Reds would need to fork out around €80 million for the Portuguese as his contract with the Laliga side is set to expire in 2026.
Following Xherdan Shaqiri’s move to Olympique Lyonnais for about £9.5 million, Jurgen Klopp’s side is pretty stretched in the forward line with both Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino failing to be consistent in the games they've been given.
The Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is afraid that his team might struggle if he is hit by injuries in the forward line and is already drawing a plan to have a proper backup this season as they seek to wrestle the title from Manchester City.
After a cold summer transfer, Liverpool might be forced to go into the market in January more so for attackers as they will be without Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Naby Keita at the start of next year because of the African Cup of Nations.
