REPORTS: Bruno Fernandes was ready to quit Man United due to their Super League involvement

Reports have emerged that midfielder Bruno Fernandes wanted to quit Manchester United after it emerged that they were part of the abolished Super League.

According to The Athletic, Fernandes was strongly against the idea of there being no relegation involved as part of the competition and felt sufficiently strongly about it that he was ready to try forcing a move away if his club joined the league.

The report adds that Luke Shaw was another United player who was strongly against the proposals and was part of the players who made it clear to Ed Woodward that the plans were not welcome.

Fernandes has been a breath of fresh air to United since joining them from Sporting Lisbon early in the year and has formed a good partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo in the new season despite results not going their way.
