Manchester United have given an update on Raphael Varane as he steps up recovery from a hamstring injury.
The classy defender was ruled out of action early last month during a Champions League match away at Atalanta but is expected back soon.
According to the report, Varane 'is back out on the grass at Carrington', but will not feature in Man United's next two games, both at home against Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
"Yeah, Rapha’s rehab is going really well," Carrick revealed to club media on Wednesday. "He’s out on the grass but it won’t be any time this week, by any stretch, it’ll be a little bit further than that, if not even longer.
"He’s on course [though], which is good."
He is expected to be back in action this month in time for the busy festive season when games come thick and fast.
This is the second time Varane has picked an injury since joining Man United in the summer, having recovered from another one suffered while in action for France.
Harry Maguire, who missed the draw at Chelsea last weekend is back after serving his one-match suspension and is expected to start against Mikel Arteta's side on Thursday night.
