Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam is interested in signing Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Ajax might lose Andre Onana in January after it emerged that the Cameroonian will be moving to Inter Milan something that leaves the club short in the goalkeeping department.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Ajax’s long-standing interest could see Henderson join them in the January transfer window, but United have yet to make their decision.
Henderson has played just once this season and doesn't look likely to replace David de Gea soon and with the 24-year-old keen on being part of Gareth Southgate's England squad in the 2022 World Cup, a January move is imminent.
The keeper has been linked with a move to Newcastle United too even though United are still exploring options for the player.
With Onana's imminent departure, Ajax wants an immediate replacement as Maarten Stekelenburg was ruled out for the rest of the season with an injury. UEFA handed Onana a year-long ban in February for violating doping rules but the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced the suspension to 9 months following an appeal.
Henderson will be between the sticks for Man United when they take on Young Boys tomorrow in the Champions League with the team already qualified for the next round.
