Despite reports of interest from Barcelona, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola believes playmaker Bernardo Silva will stay at the club this summer.
Silva's future at the Etihad Stadium has been called into doubt in recent months, with the former Monaco man stating last summer that he was considering leaving before deciding to stay.
Silva has been linked with a transfer to Barcelona, with head coach Xavi thought to be a fan of the £80 million-rated playmaker, but Guardiola is optimistic that he will be able to stay at the club next season.
Speaking to reporters, via journalist Reshad Rahman, Guardiola said: "As of today, in my opinion, I think Bernardo Silva will continue with us next season. Our goal, as a club, is for him to stay with us.
"This is our intention, although I don't like to keep players that are unhappy".
Last season, the 27-year-old Portugal international was an important cog in Pep Guardiola's engine, scoring 13 goals and adding seven assists in 50 games across all competitions.
