Senegalese striker Oumar Niasse has completed a loan move from Merseyside club Everton to English Premier League newbies Cardiff City; the transfer subject to international clearance and Premier League approval.
Niasse who has had a cold season at Everton becomes the first signing for the Blue Birds in the January window and will stay with the club until the end of the season.
The club noted on their official portal: “Cardiff City Football Club is delighted to announce the loan signing of Oumar Niasse from Everton, subject to international clearance and Premier League approval.
“The 28-year-old is our first signing of the 2019 January Transfer Window and has agreed on a deal at Cardiff City Stadium for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign.
On his part, Oumar said: “I’m really pleased to be at Cardiff City. Having heard about the manager from other players and met him earlier today, I knew this was the right move for me. Other clubs were interested, but I was convinced that this was where I wanted to come. I’d like to thank, the manager and Mr. Ken Choo for working so hard to make the move possible. I can’t wait to get started.”
Niasse joined Everton from Lokomotiv Moscow in February 2016. He has scored 12 Premier League goals to date for the Toffees and Hull City (loan) and will wear the number 29 shirt during his time in South Wales.
