Zambian striker Justin Shonga netted a brace within three minutes to guide Orlando Pirates to their first win of the the CAF Champions League group stage beating Horoya AC 3-0.
Both teams came into the match having drawn their opening matches and it was Pirates who threatened first after an event free first 20 minutes as Thembikosi Lorch hit the crossbar.
Augustine Mulenga could have opened the scores but his Horoya keeper, Keita kept the game scoreless with a finger tip save. The buccaneers finally broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute as Lorch kept his composure to net the opener.
Shonga doubled the lead in the 73rd minute after benefiting from poor defending take a quick shot and beat an onrushing Keita. Another poor defensive decision gifted Shonga a chance for his second of the match and the former Nkwazi striker made no mistake.
The win takes Pirates to the top of group B ahead of holders Esperance De Tunis who beat FC Platinum by two goals to nil thanks to a brace from Yassine Khenissi.
