Chelsea forward agrees move to Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid are looking to add some firepower up front and are set to reunite with Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata after agreeing terms with the London club for a loan deal with an option to buy.

Morata has endured a frustrating time at Chelsea since joining from Real Madrid and has seen his game time dwindle this season with Eden Hazard recently preferred in the striking position by manager Maurizio Sarri.  Reports indicate that Chelsea have agreed a deal a loan deal for Morata to rejoin Atletico Madrid where he started his youth career with an option to buy for £48.5 million. Madrid have struggled for goals with Diego Costa netting one goal in over 10 matches.

It is understood that Morata will take a pay cut when Atletico Madrid activate the buying option with the Spaniard currently earning £120,000 per week. Chelsea are set to replace Morata with Gonzalo Higuain who will join on a six months loan with an option to buy. The deal is taking some time with AC Milan looking for a replacement for the Argentine forward who is on loan from his parent club Juventus.
