OFFICIAL: Juventus midfielder joins Genoa permanently

Barely two weeks after joining Genoa on a loan deal until the end of the season, Juventus have made permanent the sale of Stefano Sturaro after he met the conditions necessary to make his switch permanent.

Sturaro had joined Genoa in the January transfer window but the Italian outfit have opted to make the transfer permanent for a fee of €16.5million. Sturaro cut a season-long loan at Sporting CP to join Genoa, for the remainder of the campaign. The midfielder returns to the club where he made his first senior career appearance.

Statement from Juventus 

"Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that, following the achievement of the conditions provided by the contract, the obligation for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Stefano Sturaro by Genoa Cricket & Football Club S.p.A. became due for a consideration of € 16.5 million to be paid in four financial years. The economic effect is positive for about € 12.9 million."
