Sifiso Myeni still on trial with Bloemfontein Celtic

Former Bidvest Wits captain Sifiso Myeni is currently undergoing a trial with 2012 Telkom Knockout Cup champions Bloemfontein Celtic

Bloem Celtic coach Lehlohonolo Seema confirmed the news that Myeni is still training with the team in hope to secure a deal with the side.

The former Orlando Pirates attacking midfielder has been without a club on departing from Bidvest Wits at the end of the 2017/18 season.

Seema says Myeni, who won the Absa Premiership title with both Pirates and Wits, has been a pleasure to watch during his trial period with the Bloemfontein-based outfit.

"He is still training and he has been interesting in training," Seema told The Citizen.

The 38-year-old tactician went on to reveal that they are yet to make a decision regarding the future of Myeni.

"But we are still looking at him. We have not made a decision yet,”

Myeni will, however, have to compete with the likes of Tebogo Potsane and Menzi Masuku should he earn himself a deal with Celtic.

The 30-year-old previously underwent a trial with Chippa United, with his time at the Port Elizabeth club deeming unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, Seema is confident that he will guide Phunya Sele Sele to a top-eight finish in the top flight league with six matches left in the league.

"The games are getting tougher and lesser and we will still fight," Seema, who was appointed as caretaker coach following the departure of Steve Komphela in December 2018.

"We are still in it with six games to go. We are not giving up yet,” the former Pirates captain concluded.

Bloemfontein Celtic will be back in action as they take on Golden Arrows in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals on March 30.
