Liverpool is set to hand midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain a new contract after the former Arsenal man overcame his year-injury hell.
The England international, who has been on the sidelines for a year with a serious knee injury returned to action on Friday night as Liverpool thrashed Huddersfield 5-0. And now Chamberlain is set to sign a 12-month extension to his existing £120,000-per-week deal which will keep him at the club until 2023 as reported by Mail.
Chamberlain message after return
"Thank you to everyone who helped to get me back on the pitch, all of the staff at the club and my team-mates too,' he wrote on Instagram. Also a big thank you to you, the fans, for supporting me in some of my darkest times as a player.
"The reception I got tonight is something I'll remember for life. Thank you."
