Mieno and Matasi face managerial change after St. George sack former AFC Leopards coach

16 May 2019, 12:45

Following a run of three wins in 12 games, Ethiopian giants St. George have parted ways with former AFC Leopards coach Stewart Hall.

St. George is home to Kenyan duo of Humphrey Mieno who joined the club at the turn of the year from Gor Mahia and Patrick Matasi who has been included in the Harambee Stars African Cup of Nations provisional squad. Hall replaced Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto at the start of the Ethiopian calendar but a poor string of results has pushed him out of the club.

Hall leaves St. George fourth on the log with 39 points from 24 games, nine points off table-toppers Mekelle Kenema. The Ethiopian Premier League has six games left and St. George will need a miracle if they are to reclaim the title they last won back in 2017.
