Enugu Rangers put their opening day loss to Enyimba behind them to beat Lobi Stars 2-1 in their Nigeria Professional Football League Championship play-off tie at the Agege Stadium on Thursday.
Godwin Aguda's 13th minute opener was a result of a dorminating start by Rangers.
Chiamaka Madu doubled the Flying Antelopes advantage in the 28th minute dribbling past Ospino Egbo before slotting the ball into the net.
Sikiru Alimi pulled a goal back for Lobi Stars a minute before the hour mark following a beautiful cross from his strike partner Samad Kadiri.
It was Alimi ‘ s second goal in the Championship play-off.
Lobi Stars were however unable to find the all important equalising goal going down to their first defeat of the competition.
