An epic final awaits tonight as Senegal's Lions of Teranga aim to clinch their maiden AFCON crown against Algeria's Desert Foxes, a side that hasn't tasted continental success since 1990.
It's a classic West vs North battle with both sides hungry for the same title for different reasons.

Senegal's name on the honours role is conspicuous by its absence, but Sadio Mane and his boys will be desperate to change all of that tonight and in so doing, get the wheels in motion for a changing of the guard in modern West African supremacy.
Changing of the guard 💨 🤺
Egypt's dismal display on home soil this year, which saw them exit at the round of 16, indicates a slight changing of the guard in North African football. By far the most successful side in the tournament's history, Egypt now looks a shadow of themselves. Algeria might feel that now is their time to win only their second-ever title and their first in 29 years and step out of that shadow.
Similarly, Ghana, West Africa's most successful side in the tournament over the years, is in transition and if Senegal adds their name to the list it could herald in a new era for the Lions of Teranga. Either way, there will be a fresh name inscribed on the trophy tonight.
