Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted at the possibility of starting newest Red Devil Harry Maguire in their first English Premier League match of the season next week.
The England international made his move from Leicester in a deal worth £80 million, which makes him the most expensive defender in history.
His deal eclipses the previous record of £75m, which Liverpool paid for Dutch defender Virgin Van Dijk from Southampton.
Solskjaer spoke after watching his United side beat AC Milan 5-4 on penalties in Cardiff in a friendly match, as they get ready for the new 2019/20 season.
"Hopefully the last little details will be in place and hopefully we can announce something soon," he said.
"Let's get the last details over the line but yeah, he's played a few games over the summer so we'll have to assess him if and when.
United goals were scored by from Marcus Rashfrod and Jesse Lingard in the 2-2 draw with the Rossoneri at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, with summer signing Daniel James scoring the decisive penalty in his home city to win the shootout as United finish second in the International Champions Cup standings.
Maguire joins fellow Englishman Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James as this summer's key additions, as Ole Gunnar, rebuilds in readiness for a new campaign.
