Adnan Januzaj believes he could have succeeded in the Premier League if only Louis Van Gaal trusted him during his time at Manchester United.
The Belgian moved to Real Sociedad in La Liga after failing to nail a starting role at United and has since gained his feet in the Spanish League.
The winger further took issue with the physicality of the league and United's use of long balls, which he suggested never suited his playing style.
“La Liga suits my style. It is much more technical, players are much more skillful. The positioning of the players is really clever,"
“In England, it’s a bit more physical, a bit long ball, more direct. In Spain, most of the teams try and play from the back. It’s great to have players around you who are comfortable on the ball, too, because it helps you. It makes attacking easier, it makes the difference.”
“I grew up there [United], I was really happy until one year I had a bit of a struggle with the manager and that slowed me down,” he said.
Januzaj broke into the scene under manager David Moyes and put in starring performances, but he fizzled out and was later shipped out on loan before finally ending up with Sociedad.
