Manchester United Marcus Rashford has defended Manchester United team-mate Paul Pogba after the Frenchman missed a penalty that proved to be decisive at the Molineux on Monday night.
United had won a penalty in the second half after Pogba himself had been brought down in the Wolves box but with Rashford having taken a previous penalty against Chelsea, the England striker left the kick for Pogba which he eventually missed.
But Rashford defender the midfielder by saying: "Paul wanted to take it, it's that simple. Anyone can miss a penalty, he has scored so many penalties and it is normal to miss one.
"It is simple, if you want to take it, you take it. I took one last week so for me, it's no problem that he took it. It's unfortunate he didn't score but that's football. The confidence that you're going to score is always the same. We practice all week and we score the majority of them.
“We decide who wants to take it. There is no reason why we shouldn’t score. It’s not on Pogba, it’s on the team.”
Pogba’s miss deprived Solskjaer of his first win over Wolves in three attempts, after Ruben Neves’s spectacular equaliser.
