Gor Mahia coach decries lack of enough players

Gor Mahia head coach Steve Pollack has decried the lack of enough players ahead of their CAF Champions League second leg tie against Burundi’s Aigle Noir.

Gor stands a good chance of making it to the next round of the competition after holding the away from home in the first leg and according to Pollack, for this to be achieved, the few players that will be called upon will have to put a good shift.

“We have quite a small squad for this game. We have like sixteen players because the other players were not registered early enough for CAF games.

Enough Players

“Again, on a day you only need enough players on the football pitch and I hope that the eleven we will choose will do the work we need them to do,” Pollack said in his pre-match conference on Friday.

The sentiments came at a time when the first batch of the team from Burundi arrived on Wednesday with the second batch arriving a day later.

The game is set to Kick off at 4pm EAT as Gor Mahia will need a win of any margin to make it through. A scoring draw of any kind will eliminate the Kenyan side from the competition.
