Luiz reveals what Mohamed Salah told him after the game

Arsenal defender David Luiz has opened up on what Mohamed Salah told him after their match at Anfield, following a penalty incident involving the duo.

Luiz, who had a decent match against Burnley, had an evening to forget at Anfield, with Salah in particular running rings around him from time to time.

He has however revealed that Salah admitted the penalty call was 'soft', and the decision, in general, was harsh.

"Yes, I think it is. You cannot take out from the players, it is just a reflex. When I turned I see that I was taking and so I took off [my hand from Salah's shirt]," he said as quoted by the club's website.

"I spoke with Mo and he said 'I didn't feel you touch me, that's why I didn't go down to the floor' but now with the VAR, you cannot see the power so it is difficult for the referees. He saw the shirt like that, but I don't know," he added.

Luiz was once again at fault as Liverpool grabbed the third, Salah skipping past him before going on a solo run to stab it past Leno at the far right.

The Brazilian defended his decision not to tackle the Egyptian, having already gotten into the referee's books for tagging on Salah's shirt inside the box for the Penalty incident.

"It was just a reflex but that's it, it made the penalty and after that he gave me the yellow. So on the third goal I could not make the foul and put my team in trouble with 10 men,"

Arsenal will next host London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates.
