He has scored only one goal to date yet the praises and compliments keep pouring in for Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic.
After earning early respect from Chiefs supporters, TV analysts and his coach Ernst Middendorp, Samir Nurkovic’s latest admirer is last weekend’s opposition coach Kaitano Tembo of SuperSport United.
The Serbian striker’s performance and goal in Saturday’s 1-1 draw has seen Tembo describe Nurkovic as ‘someone like that.’
“We had problems dealing with Nurkovic, he is a very good striker and for our defence, it was our first time playing against someone like that,” Tembo said via Soccer Laduma.
Tembo’s compliments continued to mention the 27-year-old striker’s array of skills that include every quality any coach wants from a frontman.
“He can hold a ball, he is a good player technically as well and he’s got a football brain, he makes the right decisions, he gave us a lot of problems, he could have had a hat trick.”
“But to be fair, a draw was a fair reflection of the game. We could have won it at the death but at the same time it would have been painful for Chiefs,” added Tembo.
Meanwhile, Nurkovic will be in action this evening as Chiefs visit Cape Town City.
