Arsenal, Manchester United Player of the Month nominees

The first month of the new English Premier League season has come and gone, with fans of various clubs feasting on glorious moments after a three-month break.

The major leagues have taken a two-week break to pave way for the international matches, with action set to resume again in the September 14 week.

Arsenal and Manchester United have had a not-so-impressive starts to the season, but will be proud of key players showing their worth on arguably the best league in the world.

The two sides have had mixed-results to the campaign, with United registering a single win, a loss and two draws in the opening four matches.

Arsenal, on the other hand, started with two wins out of two, before a defeat to Liverpool and a draw at home to Tottenham.

Here are the two clubs' Players of the Month nominees;

  • Matteo Guendouzi

Guendouzi has been consistent for the Gunners in the opening matches and was arguably the best player on the pitch against Tottenham last time out.

  • Dani Ceballos

The Spaniard made a memorable home debut against Burnley, and was labeled 'the new Santi Carzola'. He has dazzled in the few times he has taken to the stage.

  • Joe Willock

The youngster caught the eye this month with a string of fine performances in midfield - particularly in the wins at St James' Park and against the Clarets.

  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Aubameyang has been outstanding for the Gunners, with his goals key, particularly the lone goal against Newcastle.

Manchester United

  • Harry Maguire

Maguire has seamlessly and neatly settled in life at Old Trafford, commanding the backline with immense leadership skills and being the rock that their play is built on.

  • Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Just like Maguire, the former Crystal Palace has been a revelation at the club since his arrival over the summer. His strong performances on the right win have given fans something to smile about.

  • Daniel James

The youngster could not miss on the list. He has hit the ground running at Old Trafford, and his three goals in the opening four matches are a clear indication of his qualities.
