After David Silva confirmed that he will be leaving Manchester City at the end of the season, reports indicate that he is set to join David Beckham’s Inter Miami side next summer.
Silva will play his final game for City in the clash against Norwich City at the Etihad Stadium in the last game of the season after a decade at the club where he has become one of the all-time greats. Silva has one-year left on his current deal and confirmed his desire to leave City in 2020 – which would crown 10 years at the Etihad.
According to Independent Sport, Beckham wants the Spanish-speaking star to be their marquee signing to maximise interest from south Florida’s Hispanic community. The 33-year-old would join a host of famous names to play in MLS, including Zlatan Ibrahimović, Thierry Henry, Steven Gerrard, Andrea Pirlo and Beckham himself.
Should the deal materalize he will join the Argentine duo of Matias Pellegrini and Julian Carranza, and Venezuela midfielder Christian Makoun who have already been singed by the Miami based club.
