Chelsea are reportedly in contention to hand Nigerian youngster Faustino Anjorin a new contract as manager Frank Lampard is looking to secure his young talents according to Goal.
The 17-year-old Anjorin's current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2021 - he could also be included in Chelsea's Carabao Cup match against League Two side Grimsby Town on Wednesday evening.
Anjorin whose style of play has been compared to that of midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has managed to score five goals from seven matches played across all youth competitions.
Ahead of a possible senior debut, the central midfielder was omitted from the Chelsea U21 squad that suffered a defeat to Bristol Rovers on Tuesday evening.
Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James have been playing in the Under-23s for the past week and they are all set to mark their first-team returns in the match against Grimsby.
Unlike Anjorin, James will permanently train with the first team this season.
