Liverpool continued with their 100% record in the Premier League following a 1-0 win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday evening.
The newly-promoted side seemed to be picking a point from Liverpool but goalkeeper Dean Henderson made a blunder to gift Jurgen Klopp men three points.
The first best chance for Liverpool came in the 34th minute as Van Dijk floated a great ball over the top which Mane took in his stride. He was through on goal as Henderson raced off his line but was left in no man's land by Mane's pace, but the Senegalese sliced a woeful effort wide with the goal at his mercy.
Off the post
Liverpool hit Sheffield United with a devastating counter. Salah led the charge and found Firmino and Mane in support, passes were exchanged to present Mane with a brilliant opportunity to open the scoring, but he lashed the ball against the post before Fleck's covering tackle turned the ball behind for a corner.
Mane brought the ball under control in the Sheffield United area, span and crossed into a central position. Lundstram arrived late on the scene with a challenge that took the man and not ball. Mane didn't make a meal of it and referee Taylor allowed play to continue.
The visitors conceded in the 70th minute and it was a horror moment to forget for Dean Henderson. The Blades dealt with a cross from the left, heading the ball out to Georginio Wijnaldum on the edge of the box. He volleyed the ball back towards goal and what looked to be a routine stop went horribly wrong as the ball squirmed through Henderson and trickled over the line.
The win now means the Reds have won each of their opening seven league games to a season for only the second time in the club's history (won first eight in 1990-91), and are only the second team to do so in the Premier League after Chelsea in 2005-06 (won first nine).
Liverpool, who lost their first match of Champions League group stage to Napoli will host Red Bull Salzburg at Anfield on Wednesday 2nd. Sheffield will go back to the drawing board and will be up against Watford next weekend in a Premier League clash.
