Zambia U23 national team head coach Beston Chambeshi has summoned 28 local-based players to kick start preparations for next month’s Egypt 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Chambeshi has handed Kabwe Warriors left back Zachariah Chilongoshi his first call up to the U23 national team. Youngsters Oliver Lumbiya and Clinton Lubula have also been summoned.
The camp will run from October 8-16 in Lusaka. Zambia has been placed in Group B alongside defending champions Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and South Africa.
The tournament runs from November 8-22 in Egypt. The top three teams at the Africa Cup of Nations will qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
