The 2019 Telkom Knockout has presented an exciting draw, and we thankfully the biggest clubs won’t meet early.
Known as the TKO, the tournament is set to begin right after the current FIFA international break.
To smartly avoid the strongest sides from knocking each other out in the first round, Telkom first confirmed a new seeding system. Last season’s top eight sides were all placed in one group to draw teams in the lower tier of last season’s lower log.
Instead, Sundowns have drawn a home meeting against AmaZulu, Pirates to take on Stellenbosch FC, while Wits will battle Maritzburg United.
Every cup round as the headline draw. This one goes to Cape Town City taking on Chiefs. Defending champions Baroka FC will travel to fresh MTN8 champions SuperSport United.
- Highlands Park v Black Leopards
- Cape Town City v Chiefs
- Maritzburg v Wits
- Sundowns v AmaZulu
- SuperSport v Baroka
- Pirates v Stellenbosch
- Golden Arrows v Polokwane City
- Chippa United v Bloemfontein Celtic.
The opening round of the tournament will kick off on the weekend of 19-20.
