The hosts were not going to take things lying down and they responded four minutes later through Brabec. Change of Formation

England continued to prod in the second half with Mason Mount seemingly having been demanded to fall back alongside Henderson to give the attackers more space to cause havoc but it wasn’t working.

On the 72nd minute, England was to make a double substitution, with Marcus Rashford and Ross Barkley replacing Mason Mount and Jadon Sancho.

As England appealed for another penalty in 78yh minute, Czech almost went into the lead on the other end a minute later were it not for Pickford’s heroics in goal. A lovely play from the Czech saw Kral play a one-two on the edge of the area with Darida, who improvised beautifully to chest the ball back into his path.

Kral had two men free to his left but decided to belt the ball towards the near post from the tightest angle. Pickford moved smartly to his left to beat it around the post.

With the game headed for a draw, debutant Ondrasek who had come off the bench was to put the hosts into the lead five minutes from time. The 30 years old, playing in the MLS picked a pass from Masopust to side foot the ball into the net from 12 yards; England reacting to the setback by bringing on Tammy Abraham for Declan Rice.
