Ndidi sends warning to Brazil ahead of friendly tie

Leicester City and Nigeria star Wilfried Ndidi has warned Brazil that they should be ready to face a strong Nigerian side when the two teams clash on Sunday afternoon in a friendly match in Singapore.

The midfielder, who is expected to start, further indicated that the Super Eagles have closed the gap between them and Football giants across the world in recent years.

Earlier in the week, Brazil assistant coach Cleber Xavier singled out Everton frontman Alex Iwobi as the Super Eagles' main threat, but Ndidi seems to disagree with his sentiments.

Brazil don't have to worry about Alex only, they have to worry about our whole team,” Ndidi told The Strait Times.

The midfield enforcer is, however, anticipating a tough clash, which is their only second meeting at the national level having battled 16 years ago in Lagos, with the South Americans winning 3-0.

“Brazil are a good team and it is not going to be easy," Ndidi said.

"But this is why we are here, we want to see where we are at. The game will serve as a test for our young team trying to get experience for these types of games in tournaments,"

This will be the second match the Brazilians will be playing against an African side, having drawn 1-1 with Sadio Mane's Senegal on Friday night.
