Successful footballers giving back to their area of origins is always heart-warming and inspirational - Tino Kadewere has become the latest to offer that gesture.
The Warriors and Le Harve striker, who’s having a stunner of a season in France with 10 goals in 10, has showed Highfield youth players they’re in his thoughts.
Last weekend saw Kadewere dug into his own pocket to finance a youth tournament. The 23-year-old described the decision as an act of prevent the young men from going astray in the streets.
“There is a lot of very promising talent out here in Highfield and due to events like these young players get an opportunity to showcase their skills,” Tino said via Pindula.
“It also keeps the youth off the streets where drug abuse has become prevalent hence the significance of what Tinotenda Kadewere is doing,” he added.
The Le Havre target man’s form leaves Warriors coach Joey Antipas at pressure for next month’s selection. Zimbabwe will travel to Zambia for a Southern African derby on 14 November for a crucial AFCON 2021 qualifier.
