According to 67 Hail Hail, Motherwell midfielder David Turnbull was at the centre of a transfer saga during the summer window as he was heavily linked with a move to Celtic.

The story continuously made headlines as the negotiation talks dragged on for weeks and then it was Turnbull's knee injury that stopped the deal from materialising.

However, new reports have emerged that the 20-year-old has made a full recovery and on his way to regain his fitness and Celtic may be reconsidering him ahead of the January transfer window.

The Scottish Sun revealed that the Scottish champions are keen to resume talks with Motherwell for a possible deal as soon as he has regained full fitness.

The Hoops had allegedly offered approximately £3.25 million for the midfielder's services, however, when they discovered the extent of his injury in his medical, he had to undergo surgery and the deal was called off immediately.

Turnbull scored 16 goals for Motherwell in the 2017/18 season which was deemed a breakthrough year for him which could be the reason why he keeps attracting Celtic's interest despite his injury setback.

However, The Hoops have a solid midfield and it would be interesting to see if he will be handed his debut in the starting XI or from the bench.

The 20-year-old would need to prove his qualities while competing with the likes of James Forrest and Scott Brown to name a few who are prominent features in the midfield.
