Luka Modric's stance on Gareth Bale exiting Real Madrid

With Gareth Bale reportedly seeking an exit out of Real Madrid, Luka Modric has begged the Welshman to stay at the club.

Bale was linked with a move in the summer transfer window after Zinedine Zidane publicly admitted that he was surplus to requirements at the club. The 30-year-old was set to join Chinese club Jiangsu Suning for free on a three-year contract - earning £1million a week - but Real aborted the deal as they wanted a transfer fee.

Modric was asked if he would like to see Bale stay at Madrid, "Of course. He is an amazing player and very important for the team. He is showing that this season. Hopefully, he will stay this season and the next seasons as well. He’s an important player for Real Madrid."

Bale has won four Champions League titles, one La Liga title, a Copa del Rey and three Uefa Super Cups and Club World Cups since joining from Spurs in 2013 for £85million and has scored more than 100 goals.
