Aiyinase outfit Karela have a new man in charge to lead the side in the upcoming Ghana Premier League.

According to a leading local publisher, Karela United now call Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum the club’s new head coach.

Dr. Ogun beat David Duncan to the hotseat and replaces Johnson Smith who has since joined Asante Kotoko as an assistant coach.

“The University of Cape Coast lecturer has been named as replacement for Johnson Smith who left the Anyinase-based side last week,” added the report.

The publication further claimed that the club is expected to officially announce Dr Ogum in due course. Additionally, Dr. Ogum is expected to maintain a particularly high standard. The club finished last season behind champions Medeama SC and Ashanti Gold. The third place numbers read 25 points in 15 games - thanks to seven wins and four draws.
